Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban is best know as owner of the Dallas Mavericks and as a business investor on Shark Tank. On Tuesday night, Cuban appeared on Fox News to discuss his endorsement of Joe Biden for President with Sean Hannity. Things got heated as Hannity asked Cuban if he truly believes Biden has the strength, stamina, and mental acuity to be President of the United States.
“One hundred precent. Absolutely. No question about it,” Mark Cuban replies. “Donald Trump doesn’t want to run a country. He wants to run a campaign. Joe Biden actually wants to run a country.”
Mark Cuban Debates with Sean Hannity
In the video, which can be seen below, Sean Hannity begins listing all the accomplishments Trump has achieved during his presidency, including a record low unemployment rate for all minority groups. He also calls into question what Joe Biden accomplished in his role as Vice President for eight years. Cuban argues that all of Trump’s accomplishments can also be attributed to every Republican senator currently in office and that Joe Biden played a huge role in developing the Affordable Care Act.
“You’ve got millions, if not tens of millions of people, losing their employer’s insurance. Donald Trump has not said a word,” says Cuban. “Not only has he not said a word about healthcare, he is looking to end the ACA with no replacement.”
The two then go on to have a heated debate about whether or not Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama helped end the recession they inherited from the Bush administration. Afterwards, former game show host Chuck Woolery took to Twitter to criticize why an entrepreneur like Mark Cuban is being consulted on politics, saying:
“Why does FOX think Mark Cuban is some kind of political genius?”
Cuban responded via Twitter, taking a light-hearted jab at Woolery’s time as host on Love Connection.
“For the obvious reason that I had a friend on Love Connection! The Chuck Woolery legacy goes further than even you imagined Chuck. Stay safe!”
Chuck Woolery first achieved fame as the original host of Wheel of Fortune and has appeared on Fox News several times to comment on political affairs.
It is not hard to see Woolery’s point, but the fact that Donald Trump was elected president under the claim that he would run America as a business, gaining an entrepreneurial perspective now is not that farfetched. Some of Cuban’s followers even took to the comments, begging him to run for president in 2024. Mark Cuban has made his disapproval for Trump known before, publicly criticizing him in 2016 on his multiple bankruptcies. Cuban himself is no stranger to failure, however, having opened and closed a bar he owned during his senior year at Indiana University.
Mark Cuban made his first millions after founding his own startup software business MicroSolutions and selling it to CompuServe for $6 million in 1990. In 1995, Cuban cofounded Boadcast.com and sold it to Yahoo! for $5.7 billion in stock during the dot com boom in 1999. Cuban has appeared on the business investment reality show Shark Tank since its second season. He is likely to reprise his role for the 12th season scheduled to air in September 2021 on ABC.
