We all know and love Amazon. With its amazing Prime deals and its super easy and accessible shopping experience, we all pretty much surrender all the money we have just to get a cool Amazon approved gadget…Or at least I do. Amazon has added tons of new features to their online store over the years, like adding Whole Foods to their site or creating a new way to travel with Amazon Explore. But one thing that I’m sure we were all waiting on was a grocery store from the future—or Amazon Fresh as they like to call it.

This totally awesome way to shop for your basic grocery needs opened up recently in Irvine and Woodland Hills in California, and everyone has been loving it. The cool thing about these stores—and what really makes them stand out—is that they have something called an Amazon Dash Cart which scans your items for you. To use the cart, you have you go on the Amazon app on your phone and scan a QR code that automatically logs you into the cart. Once you do that, you are able to pick your payment method of choice from your phone and start shopping. When you place things in the cart, the four cameras and sensors located on all the corners of the cart scans the item for you. Once scanned, that item goes into your cart on the app and if you find that you don’t want said item anymore, you simply remove it from the cart and bye-bye it goes. To check out, you walk through a section of the store, press scan and pay and take your bags. The receipt is in your order history on the Amazon app.

The Amazon Fresh store has fresh produce, a bakery, a meat and seafood section, a dairy section, and many aisles that will provide you with all the dry or canned goods that you need. It is stocked up with their own branded items, Whole Foods items and other items that you can find at any grocery store like Doritos or Califia Farms Almond Milk. Alongside all of that, they have cooked meals that are ready to eat for those who happen to pop in to grab something quick.

These stores are fully functioning with tons and tons of workers who are ready to help you with anything you need. And if you come across an instance where you can’t find an employee, they have Alexa stations with tablets set up so you can just ask her where something is.

Because these California Stores have been so successful, Amazon is looking to open up more stores all over the place. As of right now, we know that they are looking to open four Fresh stores in the Chicago area soon, so for those of you who are in Chicago…keep a look out.
