With the huge number of cocktails out in the world, it’s not surprising that a few fall through the cracks. There are hidden gems in those lost cocktails, delicious drinks that everybody would probably enjoy. This week we’re focusing on the Sidecar!
The Sidecar used to be an exceptionally popular cocktail in the 1920’s. When you take a sip, you can just imagine the raucous sounds of speakeasies and their patrons. Beloved by classic cocktail enthusiasts, this drink is both easy to make and tasty.
Ingredients:
- 3/4 oz. of triple sec orange liqueur (Cointreau works pretty well)
- 1 1/2 oz. of cognac
- 3/4 oz. lemon juice
- lemon twist
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients except the lemon twist in a cocktail shaker
- Shake well
- Strain into a glass
- Garnish with the lemon twist
